Walmart and Sam’s Club raise $462,225 for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (August 20, 2021) – Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Neighborhood Markets in the San Antonio, Victoria, and Laredo regions once again helped raise funds for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals). The Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign ran from June 28 – July 25 and raised $462,225 for The Children’s Hospital.

Since 1987, this campaign has raised more than $1 billion for CMN Hospitals across North America, with $8,467,938 raised locally for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

“Walmart and Sam’s Clubs’ customers, members, and associates continue to impact their community everyday, and we have seen that for the last 34 years,” said Clark Sweat, executive vice president, chief operating officer of CMN Hospitals. “We are grateful for their long-standing partnership with us.”

Children’s health is an urgent local and global issue impacting the future of our communities and society at large. There is a substantial gap between health care funding and the needs of children’s hospitals across the U.S., which is why hospitals must rely on donations and community support.

“The funds collected at Walmart and Sam’s Clubs stores help fund medical care, research, and education at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio,” said Terry Kyle, CEO of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation. “With the help of our generous community, we are improving lives of children treated at our hospital, regardless of their parents’ ability to pay.”

The Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign allowed customers and members to donate at registers, through Walmart.com and the Walmart app. If you still want to make a difference, donate now at www.HelpKidsLiveHealthy.org.
