Stripes

Anna Ganina is a muralist and painter based in Austin, originally from Odessa, Ukraine. After a decade-long career in architecture, she shifted her focus to art full-time and has been painting murals and public art projects ever since. Her work is inspired by community, emotion, and storytelling—whether on a city wall or a fiberglass cow.

By applying zebra stripes to a cow, this design challenges the viewer to reconsider the familiar, blurring the lines between different species and their environments. The stark black and white stripes symbolize unity in diversity, representing the beauty found in contrasts and the harmony that arises from blending differences.
