Dancing in the MOONlight

Michele Carr is a cherished member of the Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School faculty and an exceptional art teacher known for her creativity, warmth, and collaborative spirit. She delights in leading projects that bring children and adults together, and she passionately believes that art can enrich every subject. For this project, she partnered with local artist Frank Schuhmacher, as well as with MSH art students, yearbook staff, and their sponsor.

MSH wanted their cow to embody a spirit of joy and hope. They often played and sang along to the song “Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest while they worked, letting its energy guide their creativity. Photographs of the students dancing and embracing life are surrounded by small daisies throughout the piece that symbolize innocence and optimism.
