Jana and Tom “T-Bone” Bounds are longtime supporters and friends of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and co-founders of Teed off at Cancer. Each year, they host Teed off at Cancer events to raise funds to benefit patients and families served at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

The  17^th Annual Teed off at Cancer Golf Tournament and Halloween-themed Casino night were held in October and raised more than $149,000 for the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Jana and Tom presented a check to The Children’s Hospital yesterday.

“Jana and Tom have given years of incredible support to our Hospital and to our patients,” said Sal McKeel, program director for the outpatient Hematology/Oncology unit at The Children’s Hospital. “We cannot thank them enough for the impact they’ve made in the lives of so many patients and families, as well as our physicians and staff.”

Jana and Tom support patients year-round with monetary donations, as well as items such as Hope Bags, blankets and meal cards to assist families when their child is admitted to The Children’s Hospital. Earlier this year, the couple was recognized by the Hospital for their generous support of the 7^th floor Hematology/Oncology unit playroom.  Jana and Tom also recently funded the creation of “lily pads” for patients receiving infusions at The Children’s Hospital and just yesterday, they hosted the Third Annual Teed Off at Cancer Toy Drive, which collected hundreds of toys for children who will be with us this holiday season.

We couldn’t do what we do without donors like Jana and Tom. As a non-profit Hospital, support from the community is essential to creating a place of healing for the children and families we are privileged to serve.  Our donors help us continue to provide the very best care for every patient, every day, regardless of their parents’ ability to pay, and we are forever grateful.
